Knollenberg and Wisecup Make Olbermann's Countdown

Wed Oct 17, 2007 at 12:12:01 AM PDT

It started small, and eventually made it's way to a Kos diary, where a handful of people picked it up.  Then Paddy over at Cliff Schechter's place picked it up, and a Kos front pager took it from there.  And Bruce Fealk has worked his magic with the msm as well.

And now we have a nationwide event:

Good work Bruce!

  •  There was a time (6+ / 0-)

when I was against these types of confrontations.  You know, that whole "We're better than this" argument.

Now, I say "Fuck 'em all!", and however we can.

    Way to go, Bruce!

  •  I didn't think Knollenberg... (7+ / 0-)

I didn't think Knollenberg could be beat. I was wrong.

    This guy's ripe to lose.

  •  Help Retire Joe Knollenberg and Trent Wisecup (4+ / 0-)

I doubt Joe will change his vote, even after this on the war or SCHIP.
It would be great if any of you out there in the blogosphere that appreciated what I've been through with Joe and Trent, to please send donations to Gary Peters' campaign, http://www.petersfor....  Gary is a great candidate for the 9th District of Michigan and our only legitimate chance to replace Joe with a progressive candidte.

    Thanks.

    Bruce

  •  This is great! (7+ / 0-)

Let's see, having a "political agenda" is used as an epithet by the all red-in-the-face toady of a  . . . politician.  Right.

By the way, while I understand that neither the so very incredibly, amazingly stupid Mr. Wisecup, nor the cowardly Representative Knollenberg (who hides behind Wisecup's skirt, peeking out from time to time to see if the mean man with the video camera's gone away yet) live in Kentucky, West Virginia, Missouri, Indiana, Alabama or Texas, about 22,000 fine, salt-of-the-earth, red blooded AMERICANS do live in these states who happen to work for, and are very much "pro"-, Toyota.  I would like to see the profoundly imbecilic Mr. Wisecup confront these 22,000 Americans and tell them what terrible people they are for working at Toyota plants in their respective states.

Oh, and then there's Toyota's new manufacturing facility in Mississippi, where very Republican Governor Haley Barbour seems quite pleased to be "pro-Toyota" and it's $1.3 billion investment and 2,000 direct jobs that will come with its new plant there.

Oh, and then there's NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc.), a joint-venture of Toyota Manufacturing and . . . General Motors.  NUMMI employees almost 5,500 Americans.

What a simpering putz Wisecup is.

    •  PS - Note to videographers. (10+ / 0-)

When a GOP toady accuses you of having a "political agenda", your response should be:

"Yes, I certainly have that.  And the political agenda is to see if you (your boss) will start behaving like a responsible politician, or, if not, confront you with video to record your behaving like the idiotic politician that I believe you are."

      Bam.

Nothing is more stupid than criticizing any politican by claiming that he/she is "playing politics."

Duh.  That's what we elect and pay them to do.  He damn well BETTER have a political agenda.

While I hate to "Monday morning quarterback", saying (while taping it all),

"'Politically hackery', Trent??  Well, I think it's political hackery for your politician boss to side with big tobacco and against America's children, and to side with Bin Laden in helping to recruit more al Qaeda volunteers by keeping our troops in Iraq.  Why don't you and your cowardly boss tell Big Tobacco and Bin Laden to go to hell and come over to the Good Guys' side?  Or are you too far gone down the path of TRUE political hackery to do that?"

          Bam.

I think if youre going to dish it out at that level you can hardly complain when you get it back.
This whole thing is bad PR for our side, it'll make trent wisecup a hero to the Great Unwashed but do no good to our side at all.

I'm not sure if I'm getting what you're saying, but I know that experience teaches us (Kerry, "Swiftboating") that maintaining silence when accused of being "against" our troops and "wanting" them to get killed is not especially effective.

I'm talking about responding to accusations.  And, besides, it's what it is.

But we're (you and I) on the same side, certainly.  Must run.

I believe in confrontation but in a way that makes YOU look good, not your opponenent.
In this case, they both looked like a couple of hacks slinging the shit at each other and obviously had a long history together.

Its AOK with me but its hard to say we're bettter than they are in that kind of confrontation.
believe me--the Right wing will take this as a victory for their side. (because they ALWAYS do)

I definitely believe that maintaining silence a la Kerry was a BIG mistake. I think that going after the Swifboaters like wisecup was doing to , whatshis name was definitely called for--the vehemence I mean, nt the content.

I definitaly believe in confrontation based on facts but just standing there calling each other political hacks just looks like two political hacks calling each other names.
I don't think this confrontation made our side look good at all.

I have no problem with the cameraman following Knollenberg everywhere and lobbing the occasional pointed question at him.

I do have a problem if, after Knollenberg answers him, he interrupts Knollenberg while he's trying to talk to folks in the drug store.  And that's what the excerpt looked like to me.

On the other hand Wisecup comes off looking like an idiot.  Suggesting that the cameraman "hates America" and loves Toyota is the same old tired wing-nut BS of pulling the patriotism card on anyone who disagrees with you.

When you couple the patriotism slur with the hateful, mental-patient gleam in Wisecup's eye, he  looks like a moron.

Participate in the Peters for Congress Red Wagon Campaign!

Print out a wagon coloring sheet, personalize it with your child, and mail it to Joe Knollenberg.

Show Trent Wisecup that voicing an opinion is NOT bullying public servants.

Look for the Red Wagon Campaign at Peters for Congress

I'm proud to work for Gary Peters, because Joe Knollenberg is out of touch.
